Fireproof

Randy and I watched this movie last night and thought it was great. The message was encouraging and it showed how important Christ is in the center of a marriage. Bravo, Kirk Cameron, bravo...

Desert Dirt Bike Riding Fun

Brrrrrrrrrrrr! It was cold last weekend in the desert! So cold, in fact, that when we left Marley's water out at night on accident, it turned into a frozen solid block! Randy thinks it had to get down to 25 degrees to freeze her water like that. Other than the cold weather, it was a fantastic weekend! We had so much fun riding and spending time with my sis, my bro-in-law, and my nephews (who are getting so good on their dirt bikes!) We all loved our time out there together. Despite the sub-arctic like temperatures, the skies were clear and the sun was out during the day helping to create perfect riding conditions. I had a blast following my nephews around on my dirt bike, which I am finally really comfortable on! We are taking another trip out to the desert in our home away from home next month. :) Oh, and guess what four legged animal LOVED the smells, dirt, and ability to roam around the desert? None other than our Marley-moo. She was in heaven!!

Update on Avila

Baby Avila is still in the hospital with a lung infection and now a bladder infection. They are concerned that the bladder infection might have hurt her little kidneys. It looks like she will be in the hospital for at least another week. Please pray for this family and for their precious little one.

Pray for Avila

I got a text message from my friend Michelle today. Her baby Avila was born in early January and is now in the hospital with a possible lung infection. They are doing more tests to find out for sure and will probably be there until Sat. at least. Please pray for this sweet baby, that she would be healed and that her parents will feel peace and comfort.

Not the one for us...

This afternoon we went to the house today with reinforcements- our parents. We all agreed that the house needed work, but when we pulled up the already very loose carpet, we saw a huge crack in the foundation. After looking more closely, we were able to see that the crack went through one entire side of the house, and that the side of the house was "falling off." No good. So, we will get out of this one and move on to the next. There is a house out there for us that isn't literally falling apart. Back to searching realtor.com!! :)

Our offer was accepted!

Wow! That was quick! We were happy to learn that our offer was accepted on a home. Now, this is not the type of home that we can move in and have friends over right away, or soon, or anytime for about a year. It's that much of a fixer-upper. BUT, it is affordable, in a great neighborhood and it is on a 1/3 acre lot! The house is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath and is about 1400 square feet. It has RV access for our home away from home, and it is cute from the outside! It needs tons of work, as I have mentioned, but we can see that in time we can make it our own. This whole thing isn't for sure yet because we will be getting an inspection and taking a very close look at a crack in the foundation. So, this could be just one blip in our home buying adventure, or this could be the one we will call home! We are thankful for God's direction and provision. It's funny... I've heard so many people say that they ended up buying the first home they saw. Well, this is the first one we saw too! Now we're off to the desert to ride dirt bikes in the pouring rain, or at this temperature, snow. :)

Offers are in! Keep praying for Abby! Link to Cornerstone...

We have put in 3 offers on 3 very different types of homes. We are interested to see if any of them are accepted (we put in very low offers with a hope and a prayer). We are excited to see which home God has for us. We've left it up to Him. We would be happy in any of them. We'll keep you posted.

On another note... please keep Abby in your prayers. She is in so much pain and discomfort from horrible complications of leukemia. Visit the Riggs family blog for an update.

Also, we would like to introduce you to the podcasts of sermons at our church, Cornerstone. I am so encouraged by the teaching of Francis Chan and the other pastors at our church, I know you would be too!

Click on media, then sermons. You can listen to any that jump out at you, but I highly recommend "Lukewarm and Lovin' it!" by Francis Chan on 10/1/06.
